GURPS slowdown?
Hi!
Is it just me, or is it becoming true that GURPS releases seem to be slowing down, or even stopped entirely? I, for one, would love some new GURPS books - but I can't see any in the foreseeable future? gurpsgm@gmail.com

Re: GURPS slowdown?
Pyramid, which is essentially a GURPS organ, has been coming out monthly like clockwork since...well, forever. I don't think it even flagged during the Great Ogre-Related Stoppage.
There was a pause in GURPS-related publications around the DFRPG, but now that that's out, we've been getting stuff again. Certainly, a significant amount of that is PDF publication of the DFRPG companion volumes, but it is stuff coming out. I think we're seeing a bit of a stutter in the wake of the DFRPG. I know that Silk Road was almost ready to go before that hit, so we're seeing a mix of DFRPG and probably almost-ready projects from before that, and the rest of the pipeline is refilling. So far as the future is concerned, you may want to keep an eye on the GURPS news, to which you can subscribe if you're so inclined. There's a lot of stuff in the pipeline. Indeed, I've got two projects working their way through the process. And I can say, based on correspondence I've had with Kromm lately, that he's very, very busy these days. There's definitely GURPS happening.

Re: GURPS slowdown?
Also check out this Speculation thread
The DFRPG did create a brief lull but if you look at the spec threads you can see most of the time we get one item out a month, plus Pyramid. And the last news thread talks about several upcoming items. We have gotten some recent releases that were already part of the DFRPG companion so for some of us they were more like a "Classic Release" and not a new item.

Re: GURPS slowdown?
I'm up to 38 pages in a 43-page draft which I plan on turning in about a week from now.

Need to check your blog more often, I see you hinted at it a few times but not the topic or line its for.

Re: GURPS slowdown?
I've mentioned it a couple of times on livejournal recently; you'll find some hints there. Other than that, what I'll say is that this is a research-intensive project that I've wanted to write for a long time.

Re: GURPS slowdown?
Darn. I was hoping this was a new product announcement for the GURPS Action line.

Running chases into traffic jams! Paperwork expansions for AR rules! Last minute political go/no-go review of black ops missions!

Re: GURPS slowdown?
I'm starting work on an outline/proposal for an Action: Space Opera supplement, but not even near starting a rough first draft yet. It may just end up a Pyramid article, though.
