Right, you know how some people like what they know and may not feel like they have time or money to learn all new books and moderately new rules? And paper books only last so long with active play?

My old group played GURPS pretty regular from 1998-2010 without touching 4e, (other than the "optional rules" I tried out on them during the 4e super black Cosmic NATO secret playtest) and I had already established in-continuity niches for the otherwise abusable 3Rev rules that were cut in the making of 4e, so I kept using the old rules with them until I moved off to grad school.

Please don't reply to people who have been asked to drop a subject.

Is there perhaps some way I can address their assertion without addressing them personally?

You could, just spitballing here, not address them personally.

Hmmm. Does that make sense? Bringing back 3e Basic set and Companion I but Companion II not? It feels a little incomplete to me...

It would be better to talk in generalities without quoting someone who has been asked to drop the subject. Or, better still, let the conversation go.

Compendium I contains character creation stuff, quite a bit of which was not reprinted in later books. Compendium II is almost all optional gameplay rules. While I'd like to see II released eventually, Compendium I is the more important of the two.

A bit late on this topic, but I just noticed that Compendium II is available on W23: http://www.warehouse23.com/products/...-compendium-ii

So, I wouldn't expect to see it on POD till the existing copies are bought.

Ordered a copy of the Basic Set earlier today and was going to order a copy of Compendium I until I saw they were charging $85.49. Looked at several other print on demand books and they went with the suggested prices like the Basic. Made no sense to me why Compendium I price got jacked up.
