Default Munchkin Dice Bag rule...

I was wondering, is it legitimate to keep putting your d6 back into the Dice Bag after every roll, so you can keep using the special rule every time you use it? Or is the intention that you have a supply of d6s in the bag, and get to use the rule once for each as you take it out of the bag, at which point it stays out?

The latter seems less abusive (and more inclined to encourage additional d6 purchases ;-) ), but the former doesn't seem to be excluded by anything that it actually SAYS in the rule printed on the bag.

(I'm fine with either, as I kind of doubt that the game is going to get all that unbalanced by making the dice go from 2-7 vs. 1-6. I just don't find myself rolling dice all THAT often.)

I had this same question in mind. My opinion would be that you should keep a stock of D6 in the bag, and once removed to roll it stays out. But that is my opinion. I am very curious of the official answer.

I wonder how that would affect the rule of rolling all 10 at the same time to get the "Horribly Unbalance Rule"?

I believe both rules specify "the Munchkin head" rather than "1" - so unless I'm seriously misremembering the +10 rule, the two rules shouldn't affect each other at all.

(Disclaimer: I may be an employee, but I have near-zero to do with Munchkin. I saw the rule for the first time when I got my own copy of the bag.)

I don't see why not. There's no rule saying (or hinting -- even vaguely) that you can't put dice back into the bag after using them. As far as I can tell, the idea is that every die you roll (if you own the bag) is 2-7 instead of 1-6. It's a pretty sweet bonus.

That's what I was thinking. The only thing that made me wonder was the fact that the bonus was stated specifically as being on dice REMOVED from the bag, and not just as a general, constant dice bonus for the bag's owner.

That is what made me wonder if there was intended to be some kind of limitation based on that fact, even though I can't see one (other than the need to keep putting the dice back in) expressed in the rule as written.

The intent of the rule is that you can't roll dice inside the dice bag. You're welcome to replace the dice after they're rolled.

Thanks! As an added bonus, I just realized that having the rule depend on removal from the bag vs. ownership of the bag allows one to offer that benefit to others without having to houserule it. That can be offered as part of a deal, "If you'll help me, I'll give you one treasure AND you can pull dice to roll from my dice bag for the rest of the game."
