GURPS 4e?
Has anybody put together any notes or such for using GURPS 4e with GURPS In Nomine?

Re: GURPS 4e?
I'm not aware of any. A few folks have made noises about wanting to try converting G:IN to 4e , though...

Re: GURPS 4e?
Hmmm, I may have to look at that myself. Since we already have GURPS Update (the guide for converting 3e characters to 4e), it should be possible, if time-consuming.

Re: GURPS 4e?
The main hurdle for GIN 4e is... Well, time and energy. Amazing how much an Impufanite kid can suck from ya, y'know? (And the other half of the original GIN team is overloaded at work; they seem to think he's a Kyriotate of Lightning, not a Seraph (or Elohite) of Lightning. Or that he has Superior multi-tasking.)
The second hurdle is Cosmic, when I was talking about it with someone who was thinking of doing some conversions and then promptly had a non-fatal but terrifying (to me, hearing about it, anyway!) car accident. I'm kind of opposed to tacking Cosmic onto some IN powers because in the IN world alone, the powers by-definition work the way they work and trump what they trump. It's if you get crossovers, as I understand it, that you need to worry about Cosmic -- so nearly every power kind of needs two costs. One with Cosmic and one without. And a discussion of the levels of it, and whatnot. If ever I got a mandate to work on it more -- and with only 67 e23 GURPS INs sold, this is not looking likely -- I would probably make it "In Nomine Powered By GURPS" so that I could avoid a number of issues that 4e has which just aren't compatible with how IN is.

67? Say it isn't so!
That's bad. |

Miraculous is clearly Cosmic, just about by definition. Balancing this out would be a ton of limitations. Most everything is limited by Pact and Trigger.

Re: GURPS 4e?
Actually, it's not too surprising. Right now, as it's presented, GURPS In Nomine's major appeal is to:
* People who are interested in GURPS, and * Are interested in In Nomine, and * Know about and are willing to buy from e23, and * Don't mind buying a Third Edition sourcebook and either playing by 3e rules or taking the time to convert the material to 4e. Each "and" reduces the target audience by quite a bit. In fact, you could say that one of the arguments for a 4e GURPS In Nomine is that it would take the last "and" out of the equation. Whether that would be enough to make the project worthwhile, I don't know. (Personally, I think it'd be worth it -- sure, it's a niche market, but so is GURPS Tales of the Solar Patrol -- especially since it might invigorate the IN line. But I'm admittedly biased.) EDIT: I might also add that of those 67 sales, 22 have been since January 1. If anything, I've been pleased at some of the recent interest it's gotten under the circumstances.

Re: GURPS 4e?
Oh, I'm pleased as well -- that's also 67 after the hardcopy sold out. And the pure IN ones are doing a bit better: 413 core rules, around 350 each for Lilith and Eli, a bit over 200 for Litheroy and the Liber Umbrarum, etc. The free ones (Nybbas Xmas and Sorcerer's Impediments) have 4K and 2.5K downloaded, too, respectively. O:>
But without a clear demand from people who are willing to jump all those "ands," to get something close to what they want? It's probably more cost effective for SJ Games to look at other projects, at this time.
