Re: TFT custom dice
I think Megahex Pips are unique. I haven't seen them elsewhere. I think it will transcend into use in other games.
Hey, not that it would be of any use in TFT, but could you make a megahex-sided die? I don't know if its even possible.

Re: TFT custom dice
I second that - the 2 and 3 should be on the diagonal.

Re: TFT custom dice
They're certainly a unique design, and I'd probably get a set for novelty use, but they wouldn't replace standard d6 (or d6 with a 1-spot design) for normal day-to-day use.

Re: TFT custom dice
I like the Megahex dice. Certainly something I'd back for my growing odd dice collection. That the design is actually functional puts it ahead of several other recent dice I've encountered, too.

Re: TFT custom dice
That would be super cool. It would have some very strange corners and edges, the trickiest perhaps on the edge where the flat side of the megahex/cube face meets the points and inverted angle of the other side (the megahex has to be rotated 90 degrees from one face to another). Since every face of the d6 would feature alternating flats-to-points edges, I think it would still be a fair die. Whether or not that could be easily enough tooled up for manufacturing is beyond me.

What WOULD be cool is if they could figure out how to do something like that on the doublesix dice dodecahedron concept, but that might be a bridge too far! ;-) |

Re: TFT custom dice
1: Take the outline of a megahex as the solid base of your object.
2: grow a "cylinder" from this base with the same outline to a height of the diameter of the megahex. 3: And this "cylinder" with two clones of itself at orthogonal directions so that they share common centers of gravity. 4: Indent into each of the six faces the "pip hexes". Anybody need help writing the 3D printer model for this?
