So since the forums have been down for the last week or so (at least it's felt like a week), I'll update all of the posts that I made while they were offline. The posts this week have been shorter than usual since I'm back in work, diving straight into a busy period which is set to continue for another three weeks.

First up is Ars Mundi: Coldfire. Coldfire is the polar opposite to fire, using the energy in fuel to create cold, not heat!

Second is a cross-post about 2017's first GURPSday and some of the content around the blogosphere I found interesting.

Last is Grimoire: Elemental Melee Spells, a small collection of spells for the Fire, Water and Air/Weather colleges that give mages more options in melee combat.

On a bit of a delay because work is really heating up. Fair warning -- posts might slow down or stop altogether over the next two to three weeks!

The most recent post is about rules for actions and attribute penalties in different gravities. The rules in Basic Set are... confusing, to say the least, and from a search on the forums I'm not the only one who didn't like them. So I tried to simplify and fix them, especially the two advantages that interact with them. I also talk about how long it takes to "learn" new gravities, and adapt to freefall/zero-gravity.

Crunch time is over! I'm back in my home country! I slept more than five hours last night! New posts coming!

Tomorrow will see a rather special post but I won't spoil the surprise. Instead, I'll link you to the two posts I made a few weeks ago but forgot to update here (ack!):
  • Equipment Locker: Lightning Guns, Galvanised - An update to my older post about converting electrolasers into lightning guns using a quick hack, now using my additions to the Blaster and Laser Design system to give more variety.

Would it hurt anything to drop linked damage and maybe just give +1 damage?

Probably not, I just wanted to be consistent with electrolasers. It's only really important if you're firing them in a vacuum.

Time for the special post! It's the one-year anniversary of my blog! I talk about my reasoning for starting the blog, and what specifically catalysed it, then talk about how my first year went, with special attention to how my own self-consciousness held me back. Then I look at the five most popular posts and my five favourite posts, and a quick sum up of what I want to do the next year. It's maybe a little self-serving but some analysis and reflection is always good.

The beam weapons are certainly my favorite part of your blog. Not necessarily the main beam weapons article, but all the beam weapon posts put together.
