Dead, Friendly, and Fool's Gold
If Dead or Friendly is played on a monster, can Fool's Gold be played after to make the player receive no treasure? If Dead or Friendly is played, can the player still choose (or be forced) to run away from the monster? Also, Dead says that it is played on one monster and take it's treasure without combat. If Dead is played when there are two monsters, the combat doesn't end, does it?

Re: Dead, Friendly, and Fool's Gold
Yes, you still can take away the Treasure for the combat with Fool's Gold, or similar card. I guess he could still choose to fight the monster in the case of Friendly, because the card specifically say so, then roll the dice twice to add to level of the monster. But he only get to Run Away if he can't beat it.
When played with two or more monsters, the player chooses which one is Dead and fight the other normally. If he beats them, he gets all Treasure (including the Dead monster). If he loses, he gets NOTHING!

Re: Dead, Friendly, and Fool's Gold
Thank you! One more question: If a +10 monster modifier is played on a monster and gives it +2 more treasure if defeated, then do I get the extra treasure if I use Dead on the monster (does that count as defeating the monster since the +2 treasure only counts if the monster is defeated)? Same question but with Friendly or the Wizard's ability?

Re: Dead, Friendly, and Fool's Gold
Dead does not cancel the combat; it just means the dead monster itself is no longer there to fight. This is an official clarification, in line with many other similar cards from other sets.

Re: Dead, Friendly, and Fool's Gold
so, as it is no longer in combat, Fool's Gold effect ("no treasures from combat") is not applied there, isn't it?

Re: Dead, Friendly, and Fool's Gold
Fool's Gold is a legal play during the "reasonable time" period even if the only monster has been made Dead. Dead doesn't end the entire combat; it just knocks one monster out of it.

Re: Dead, Friendly, and Fool's Gold
But now, with new FAQ changes combat ends immediately if only monster is "dead". Can I still play Fool's Gold between playing Dead and getting reward?
