Default Bad Run o' Cards timing

Player A defeated the monster and got 4 Treasures. He now has 9 cards in hand. Player B then plays Curse! Bad Run o' Cards, which would force player A to discard all but one card from his hand.

Should player A have time to put down some Itens, or does the Curse takes place before?

I'm inclined to say the Curse goes first, since cards trump rules, but I'm asking in the name of someone else, so I can give the most official answer possible....

Default Re: Bad Run o' Cards timing

It is extremely poor sportsmanship not to give people a chance to look at their cards before making them ditch them all. So I'm going to say that when someone has just acquired a giant pile of loot, they should be given time to go through it and figure out what, if anything, they want to play or sell.

Once that time has expired, the Curse takes effect. If the player decides to play a lot of cards in response to a too-hasty Curse, that's what you get for being a big jerk.

(That said, if individual groups want to play that the Curse takes priority, that's a reasonable interpretation, as long as people know that you're in a cut-throat game and you're all a bunch of meanie heads.)
