Default Why no SJGames swag?

Pinnacle Entertainment Group (maker of Savage Worlds) just announced their Savage Gear Shop, with an assortment of shirts, mugs, and stickers bearing their game logo and various game-universe art, printed through Redbubble.

I still treasure my ancient "Powered by GURPS" t-shirt. My impression is that clothing hasn't done well through Warehouse 23, or is annoying / difficult to stock. Has SJGames recently considered associating with an external vendor to provide such visibility-enhancing swag?

I can imagine Munchkin throw-pillows or tumblers or phone cases or even socks (and, of course, rules for their use in-game...). I'd totally put a large "Powered by GURPS" bumper sticker on the back of my car; it might even help me find a face-to-face game! And lots of SJGames box or cover art would look great on a t-shirt or coaster or tote bag.

Thirded. Even though the forum wants me to write some more. I still have a giant die I bought through your ship a decade ago!

The fact I would have to commit a crime just to wear a GURPS t-shirt is itself a crime lol. I've wanted this for decades and have some home items for personal use, but going to conventions and game stores and seeing nothing but the D&D logo is super depressing.

Sure. But where’s the GURPS support, or the Awful Green Things merchandise? Answer: it isn’t cost-efficient for W23 to order and stock such things. Thus, my question: how about outsourcing?

I don't have any insight, but there was a partnership with WeLoveFine for official Munchkin shirts (even including a design contest), but there are none in their store right now, so perhaps there wasn't enough sellthrough to expand the line there, or maybe there is another deal being worked on (with them or someone else) that isn't public. It would indicate there isn't an outright objection to working with a third party company willing to set up a line for branded shirts or merch, so there is hope there.

This is not a bad idea. Much like POD, screen printing for Tshirts is relatively cheap. I see no reason why SJG couldn't just get a storefront at one of these shops and sell through them, because there'd be no need for IP licensing agreements, etc. They may not look amazing, but with some competent editing of graphics for the format they'd be pretty decent and I'd rather have a $5 semi-disposable GURPS shirt than none at all.

Huzzah!

(And I understand dipping toes in the water carefully at first, with flagship projects like TFT, but it'd be super eventually to get support for more peripheral parts of SJ Games' catalog, too.)
