FICTIONAL Female Warriors
I set up another thread to talk about real world female warriors.
This one is intended to provide a forum to talk about examples of fictional female warriors that might serve as inspiration for GURPS players wanting to play women combatants. Any genre is fine. Try to put things in GURPS terms as much as possible. THIS IS NOT A GENDER POLITICS THREAD. If you want to talk about that please take it to General Chatter.

Red Sonja is a favorite of mine. Not the Marvel comics Hyborian one, but the real Robert E. Howard, swashbuckling Siege of Vienna version.

Re: FICTIONAL Female Warriors
In Unfinished Tales there are some unnamed Female Worthy Opponents. The King of Gondor had his agents engineer a slave revolt among the Wainriders to take place just as the Men of Gondor had taken the field and forced most of the Wainrider warriors to do the same. As a result, only the women were left behind when the revolt came, but they stayed behind and in defense of their children held off the rebels.

Queen Scathach from the Isle of Skye features in both Scottish and Irish myth [the Ulster Cycle] .
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scathach She taught the hero Cú Chulainn his legendary martial skills [his 'trained by a master'?]. Her name means 'shadowy' - an illusion to her connection with the world of the Fey. She could be quite fun to role-play, and hopefully counts as fictonal.

Xena, the spinoff from Hercules, ended up being more popular than the original.

Re: FICTIONAL Female Warriors
IMHO, the quintessential archetypal stereotypical fictional female warrior is Red Sonja, but I can think of quite a few more that I liked. The Conan Saga alone gave us Belit, Valeria and Isparana. CL Moore gave us Jirel of Joiry. Andrew Offut and Richard Lyon gave us Tiana Highrider. And at a bare minimum, we know at least one incarnation of the Champion Eternal was female: Ilian of Garathorm. The Forgotten Realms have Alias.

Re: FICTIONAL Female Warriors
Griselda - from Glorantha/White Dwarf/ Tales of the Reaching Moon. Not just fictional, but a Player Character statted out and game sessions retold in character.
Halo Jones - from 2000AD. okay, not much of a warrior but heroic SF. Sgt Valor from Tanya Huff. SF infantry combat and alien "mystery". Honor Harrington from David Weber. CSForrester-Hornblowerish but in space.
