Voyage of the Rock Aliens had a comedy take on that. The chainsaw killer is stalking the "wrench wench" and his chainsaw stalls and won't restart. He throws it down in frustration. She berates him for treating his tools badly and helps him fix it. By then, of course, they are falling for each other.

Behind the Mask was a weird little movie about a documentary crew filming a serial killer as he plans his next crime spree, selects the "virgin girl", etc. He talks about the immense amount of cardio he does so he can get ahead of people running for their lives.

Seriously Hollywood.
It is hard to manage because it is hard to manage in real life. It is quite hard to make oneself holy without making oneself holier then thou. Also I suspect a lot of Hollywooders had a grudge against overprotective parents for worrying about them getting into a line of work that has a low success rate and a reputation for worldliness.

Still...Victor Henry. But then Wouk had some idea how a religious person was supposed to behave from the inside and there is enough similarity between religions for him to get a decent Christian character right.

The Reagan family.

These are pious enough as far as it goes but their behavior is not all that straitlaced to say the least. Though Victor was under intense pressure and never did go for Pamela until it was clear Rhoda was gone. It is hard to quite picture the Reagan's as Catholics though. But Victor goes well both as a Protestant and as a WWII naval officer.

Westerns often have fairly good Badass Preachers.

Oldies like Chariots, obviously. Liddel was the sort that you wouldn't mind in your pub-even if he was only ordering tea.

How about a jock who is friendly to most everyone and enjoys a nice mani-pedi?

Or the nerd with a crush on the cheerleader, who realizes a) the cheerleader and jock are together because they genuinely care for each other, b) he's being a bit of an ass trying to steal another guy's girl, and c) his (failed) attempt to trick her into thinking she was with her boyfriend is borderline rape. (Revenge of the Nerds is pretty horrifying when you think about it)
How about a jock who is also a nerd? A friend of mine was that. It was a small school and everyone was a jock on occasion but as it happened both the chess club and the Bible quiz team had several who played basketball and football. And they were on the whole good clubmates.

A Serb who is neither a gangster nor a war criminal.

A Russian who is not a drunkard.

A Sicilian who is not a mobster.

Like Harry Potter?

I expect the type to become common soon.

Potter was NOT the nerd. That was Mary Sue... I mean Hermione.
Harry just lucked and destiny-ed his way through things.

Bespectacled user of intellectual abilities (magic), in fact quite smart, with messy hair and who IIRC gets picked on by popular kids of the school? It seems to significantly match the stereotypical nerd; he just happens to also be the jock in the sense of being good at Goldcatchball.

Strictly speaking, monks live alone while cenobites live communally. However, the meanings of the words have drifted from their origins. (For "monk", the etymology traces to the Greek "monos" for "lone" or "one", via an adjective form "monakhos". "Cenobite" leads back to "koinos", for "common".) I think most people these days think of "monks" as living communally, so the words have become synonyms. And there's always "hermit" or "eremite" if you want to emphasize the solitude.

A cartoon rat whose personality actually resembles the good qualities of the real animal, such as being friendly, sociable, and well-groomed.

A knight who rescues a princess, declines the king's offer on the grounds that he (like most knights his age) is already married, then returns to the dragon's cave and says "You really need to stop doing this, dear."
