Well yes. But a lot of people on tv whose hobby is not inherently creepy(something like pickling pieces of your murder victims say) are treated as creepy because their hobby is unusual.

Creepy is subjective.
And pickling is just a sensible method of preservation. It's not like many cannibals have the time and space to air dry man-meat. ;)

Doesn't even need to be that unusual. Detail oriented hobbies like stamp collection are usually treated as lazy shorthand for "meticulous but hopelessly out of touch with reality"

One great symbolic scene they had in Winds of War was Von Roon and Victor Henry playing chess while they talked shop.

Here's some other ideas.

A fashionista who is not a stupid valley girl, is not trolling for boys, and is not absurdly vain but pays attention to her looks because that's just as good a hobby as any other.

A video gamer who is a full grown adult and does not act like a manchild either.

A surfer-dude, or surfer-gal who is highly intelligent and can quote Aristotle in the original.
