Good programs to bring Gurps into the digital world?
I don't like managing my stuff on paper as a player. I want to keep track of inventory, damage, skills, note, all things that a player should have access to.
I'd like to know of any programs for Windows that would allow me to drop the pen & paper and go digital. Whatcha got? |

Before anyone mentions anything more complicated or specialized, excel.
Really, its great for tracking these sorts of things. It was designed to keep track of constantly changing numbers, total up lots of entries, and to make notes about numbers. It has nice little columns. Its really pretty good for the task.

Yep, Excell or any decent spreadsheet is readily available to most people and pretty easy to use.

Re: Good programs to bring Gurps into the digital world?
If you'd like to I made some character sheet on Google Sheets and I could share it. It automatically calculates many things, eg. your encumbrance and its level accounting for what you're carrying and what's your strange - it also shows what is your Basic Move and Dodge on this encumbrance level. It also does all math behind skills - you just input your Attribute and how many points were spent on individual skill. Of course it's only Google Sheets so it can't do many of the things that Microsoft Excel is great at.
Just PM me your mail and I'll send it to you. |

Getting to the more specialized software, GCS and GCA are character creation software specifically for GURPS. They both track all the stuff associated with point spending, and equipment.
The GURPS Calculator web app interfaces with both of these programs, and is pretty awesome. http://gurpscalculator.com/DiceRoller

If you don't own Excel, and Google Sheets doesnt do what you need, try out LibreOffice.
95% of the function of Excel, and its ooen source. I think it's worth a try.

Having said all that, I also recommend (and use nearly every week) GURPS Character Sheet (another open source project - and one to which I have contributed a bit).
