Re: Cloth under Armor and Capes
I feel like I'm repeating something I said pretty clearly, but, again, there is no 40 point max rule and the game follows the 'doubling' XP progression you suggested. The published game works just the way you are arguing.

Re: Cloth under Armor and Capes
These topics about partial armor really belong in the House Rules sub-forum, not here in the main forum.
I started a new thread for this there: http://forums.sjgames.com/showthread...63#post2279663 |

Re: Cloth under Armor and Capes
When I look at the weapon and armor stats of TFT I see the same thing you find in a game like BattleTech where the weapon and armor stats are unrealistic, but applied equally to all sides.
You can finagle the stats all you like, but eventually you realize you are just playing a clumsy/clunky form of GURPS. I think about that every time I want to revise the weapons and armor, then leave them alone.

Re: Cloth under Armor and Capes
The weapon, armor stats and damage mechanics are all engineered to make lots of character designs competitive in tactical fights, and to make sure most combat situations result in some sort of clear outcome within a few turns of play.
