Default Pyramid 3-33 Low Tech

Just bought it and am still going through the chapter about bows.

Wow! Some work put into it there! Great work and the XLS sheet is a nice touch.

Just wanted to say, Great Work, looking forward to build a archer.

Bows, crossbows, and straight, recurve, reflex, and compound varieties of each. Any material that you can have or invent materials properties for, you can build into a bow. Also includes footbows.

Once Steven agreed to include it, it made it a lot easier to ask the designer to do the iteration required to get it right. Or, well, as close to right as I could; the "real" version of right requires a lot of computation. There's a LOT of math behind one of the oldest weapons in history!

I'm a little awed at the bows article.

It just got yoinked for design work in my TL0 demigods campaign.

Very nice issue.

Although the bit about blowguns is kinda scary what you can get the damage up to.

Although I have a nitpick about the Breath Mastery Perk, as it specifies that it's ST bonus is to help the damage and range of blowguns, but unless I'm missing something, damage is not based on ST... instead it's a flat amount.

Bows article is awesome. Couple questions though.

Is there any advantage to a heavier arrowhead that couldn't be had more cheaply by making the shaft heavier?

Are the Acc values in the article intended to correspond to standard acc scores, or acc scores recalibrated as per the Reduced Acc option on LT:75?

A few questions about blowguns:

1) Why are Darts better than Spikes? Darts are twice as expensive, have the same stats but do pi- rather than Imp.

2) Can a dart/spiked be barbed? If so, what's the CF and effect (1/2 dmg on removal)?

3) Using these modifiers, it's possible to use 4lb. spikes in a blowgun for some scary damage... is that intended, I wouldn't think that's even possible.

4) Does the bonus from rifiling apply before or after quality modifiers.

5) How does the weight multipliers for Sturdy & High Quality materials interact? The article states that you need both for a long blowgun to be treated as a staff, but if so, then it would weigh a lot more than a staff! How does weight increase affect Min ST?

6) Narrow & wide options seem to indicate that the blowgun itself is thinner or wider, but weight doesn't change... is this intended?

7) The Breath Mastery Perk seems to indicate that it should improve damage and range, but how is damage affected when it's not based on ST?
