Default Difference cards in play and cards sideways

Hi

We had a discussion about the cards laying sideways and cards in play.

Is it allowed to take a card in play and put it sideways? And is it allowed to switch a card in play with a card laying sideways ?

Your nomenclature needs revision. Any card on the table counts as "in play" Your Race, Class, and all equipped and unequipped items are "in play"

Any item unequipped or otherwise carried can be placed sideways and they do not count toward your combat strength. As long as you are not in combat, you can unequip one item and equip a carried item in its place, but all of these cards still count as "in play"

Note: only ITEMS can be put in play sideways or "carried". You can not do this with non-item cards. (An item is anything with a gold piece value)

In Marvel, there's a card that says if Captain America is in play, do this...
Does that mean if he is in play anywhere on the table (by any player), or does it mean if he's in play by the person/people fighting?

If it just says "in play" that means face-up on the table in front of anyone.

If the card just meant "in play" for the targeted player, it would say "If Captain America is your Ally, ...."
