[Sorcery] Limitations?
Okay, I've brainstorming tweaking the Sorcery system, and I wanna know how to model limitations.
Is it valid to just put Limitations on the Sorcererous Empowerment advantage, and leave the spells character point costs as is? Or should the Limitations be applied to the CP cost of spells as well? Say, I wanna have Sorcery only work in darkness, how would you model that in game mechanics? Thanks! |

Re: [Sorcery] Limitations?
If you want all the bought spells to also only work in darkness you need to add the modifier to them.

Re: [Sorcery] Limitations?
Putting the Limitation only on Sorcerous Empowerment would mean "can only improvise spells when in darkness", but wouldn't affect other spells.
You'd also reduce the cap on the allowable cost / power of the non-darkness learned spells, as they'd still have to fit under the net CP cost of Sorcerous Empowerment. Properly you'd put that kind of thing in the Power Modifier, but that's just a way of applying it to every ability that's part of the power. |
