Pick card from other players hand
I'm aware of the FAQ's answer to picking a card randomly from a players hand, but what about when a curse or bad stuff allows other players to pick a card from a player's hand (without specifying it be done so randomly)?
This came from a game last night. A player got hit with bad stuff that allowed each other player (starting with the player to his left) to pick a card from his hand. This player had two cards in his hand: a door card and a treasure card. Being seated immediately to the left, I asked for the treasure card. He insisted that it had to be at random, but I argued that because it did not specify that, I was not limited as such. My argument centered on the word randomly (or rather its omission). As I argued, randomness was essentially a binary variable. Therefore, if it wasn't random, it was non-random. As such, I argued that the picking player was free to choose door or treasure (without viewing the disaffected player's actual cards). Is this correct? Or can the picking players view the disaffected player's hand and choose specific cards (e.g., I want the Ring of Wishing)? Or is the card still selected at random? |

If it doesn't specify a truly random draw, you may ask for a Door or a Treasure. You don't get to look at the faces of the cards unless the card says you do.
