Halfling Selling Ability
So here is the deal:
I just got munchkin and have only played a dozen times or so, but have read the rules about a half dozen times. My question is one that seems like it has an obvious answer, but i'm not 100% on it. One of the "Go Up A Level" cards, that I'm sure everyone knows about, is 1000 gold. I also know that it technically is not considered an item, but I'm not entirely sure on that. In "Need for Steed" it says that hirelings are not considered items and cannot be sold or traded unless they have a value on them. So, in some cases they are kind of considered items, but you may only have one. So, my question is this: Because this card has a "value" on it, can you sell the 1000 gold card with your halfling ability for 2000 gold, making you increase 2 levels? It doesn't seem right, but it would be a very munchkinly thing to do in a game and would make everybody mad at you :) Please let me know how you would interpret the rules. |

Re: Halfling Selling Ability
The card in question is not an item, because "1'000 Golds" is just a name of the card. It doesn't have value in the place where it should be either. That means, that you can't sell it regardless of your race.
You play it and you go up a level. That's all. |

Re: Halfling Selling Ability
It's not an Item. It's a Go Up A Level card, with the flavor text "1,000 Gold Pieces."
