2. Yes. If not for the Kickstarter support, we wouldn't be creating new Ogre material. The M1 Playmat preorder experiment worked well -- and we may try that again in the future -- but it is the backers who support Ogre on Kickstarter who have made it possible for the new Ogre titles to exist. The Ogre Miniatures, Second Edition rulebook will not be offered to distribution, and Ogre Battlefields is not scheduled for a distribution release. The demand at retail isn't strong enough to support the Ogre line at this time, so we let the Ogre players tell us on Kickstarter whether or not we should create a specific product.

Re: KS Ogre Mini
Given the nature of the fanbase--lots of devoted grognards, very few newbie or marginal players--Kickstarter seems to be the best fit for serving the market.
Which doesn't keep it from being a pain in the ass sometimes. I had to pass on the original M1 offering. I'm glad it was an option in OZ2. |

Re: KS Ogre Mini
Mine finally arrived here in Tokyo after being cross shipped by relatives. Feel like a little kid tearing into a pile of birthday presents opening up that box! So much Ogre-y goodness!
