Thinking about Parkour practicioner.
Okay, was seriously thinking about making a character that practices Parkour. My only question is 'how' do I build him/her? What skills? Attributes? Point totals, etc?
Any ideas would be appreciated. Just in case no one knows what Parkour is, see here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEeqH...eature=related and here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parkour

And if you want to beef it up, buy up his Basic Speed.
As for Advantages, Catfall, Fearlessness, Daredevil, Fit, Luck, Terrain Adaptation: rooftops, Perfect Balance and Schtick (looks cool while jumping and running) would all be appropriate. |

Re: Thinking about Parkour practicioner.
Some kind of luck based advantage.
In these videos you see the times they don't screw up.... I imagine this activity ends in a lot of broken bones. For the game acrobatics and jumping, I would think. |

This thread should be helpful, since it's basically the exact same question you just asked. :)

You definitely need to consider an equipment modifier: without appropriate shoes, you'll smash your face on walls! :)

Re: Thinking about Parkour practicioner.
I used 12 DX, 12 HT, 10 ST, and 10 IQ. I bought Acrobatics, Jumping, Running all at 14.
Kromm said climbing skill is different in GURPS, but I dunno, alot of the moves from the videos I've seen on You Tube seem to involve scrambling up and over obstacles 'quickly' which to me seems like climbing. Couldn't climbing rolls be used for those instances as well rather then ST? Oh, maybe a Technique based Skill of something, based off Climbing? Not sure I agree with Molokh's idea at the end of the thread that was pointed out to me. I mean I can kinda see that, but what about jumping, running, etc? Especially for the Free Running over roof tops kinda thing? Are you saying none of those skills should be bought for this? I've got the stats and skills I used listed above? Anyone else feel like adding to that, or suggesting what to add or subtract? =)
