Default Multiple monsters and bonuses against them (Chainsaw of Bloody Dismemberment)

I recently played a game in which the following question came up:

When fighting multiple monsters which one of your items grants an additional bonus, does one get multiple additional bonuses?

Based on the wording on page 9, in Helpers in Combat, it does not work like that when it's a monster against multiple players, so it would not make sense to me for it to work like that for the players. Also, the Bane Rings explicitly say 'against each [color] monster', which makes me think that the other cards with monster-specific bonuses would also say that if they were intended to work in that fashion.

Obviously, of course, the guy who was up against multiple fearsome, huge, enraged tentacled things had a different interpretation of the rules...

Normally, bonuses are once per, so it would have to say "for each" or "for every" for you to get the bonus for every Monster that matches the criteria. So, if you have a bonus against a Huge creature, facing 3 Huge creatures wouldn't give you the bonus 3 times UNLESS it said you got the bonus for every Huge Monster.
