Divine intervention when the Cleric is dead...and level 9
Hand it to my daughter to make this situation happen. Being 10, we let her win the game. I know, we are good people. But in case I ever get this lucky, what's the ruling on this? To clarify: She lost to a monster and died at level 9. She has noting to her name but the Cleric. The next player kicks down the door to Divine Intervention, and she claims that she won.

You only stay dead until the start of the next player's turn, so your daughter was 100% correct.
In the VERY unlikely event that DI had come up on the same turn that she died, she could not level up to win the game. Both of these rules are found in the rulesheet for your game under "Death" (usually on p. 4 or 5).
