Interesting bit of real-world research that indicates medieval warhorses may have been smaller than we imagine.

A 14.2hh pony is around 400kg, or 880 pounds.
By my formula https://www.hcobb.com/tft/house_rules.html#Creatures this would be ST 24 or a riding horse as indicated in the article. See also https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Destrier The 16hh warhorse that fits that armor is then 1,035 to 1,545 pounds (469.5 – 701 kg) The ITL 88 range of ST 24 to 36 gives a formula weight range of 880 to 1,944 pounds, which is around 17.2hh at the max
