[lord of your own domain] [Pyramid #3/63] Question
Love the article, but a few things have been nagging at me.
The description of the ability to have a pocket dimension seems to imply that it comes with nothing but air and featureless boundaries. Increasing the size at 10pts/lvl seems to be priced as a separate status level starting at -2 with +100% in modifiers, but still gives nothing but the empty space with air. This could make sense as -50% (only space), +50% (no upkeep/COL for the status), +50% (affected by character abilities), +50% (hidden), or some similar set of modifiers. However there are a few reasons this is bugging me (a bit OCD): First, this seems to be a slightly more expensive, but less beneficial version of the HQ rules from Supers at the +100% special ability level. It charges more for the status -1 and 0, but doesn't come with anything other than the space itself. Second, and somewhat more confusing, the sample character has a fully furnished self-sustaining country-sized building, complete with resources and staff, yet doesn't seem to have paid anything for it. He has no where near enough wealth, and only has a 10-pt patron (well below the level of a country-sized organization) without the equipment modifier. If "Finny" is indeed providing the hotel, staff and upkeep, then why is Walter paying for ownership the dimension, including 100pts for its size rather than simply having Jumper(World) and a Patron with its own Dimension. How would a character have their own pocket dimension with estate and grounds, like many of the fairies and spirits of folklore? |

114 character points for a (admittedly huge, but still mostly background fluff) hotel and it's staff is something. |

If you want more than light and air in your private domain, you can either use your wealth to bring stuff from our world into yours (if your ability allows that) and/or you can buy separate Wealth, possibly at reduced cost if you cannot bring stuff from your pocket dimension into the "real" world. |

Okay, I can see that, but then isn't the Dimension Finny's, rather than Wally's? Why should Wally pay the 100 points for space used by Finny AND the 114pts for Patron and Contact Group?

Re: [lord of your own domain] [Pyramid #3/63] Question
I'd treat it as a completely separate trait. Your "real-world" Wealth is assumed to be Average, which is a zero-point feature and the default. Your domain Wealth is Dead Broke by default, so I'd assume that -25 CP is 0 CP and buy up from there. If you cannot meaningfully transfer stuff between worlds, that is. If you can, it's basically a single trait that scales normally according to the RAW.
