I wish psionics were no removed in the DF RPG
I liked psionics a lot but so I sure wish it were included in the DF RPG. I like the idea of Elder Things have weird and alien powers that magic does not interact with because it keeps the Elder Things alien. I think that it could be cool to include them but not let PCs have access to them or have the PCs just be able to have something like Danger Sense or maybe some mental resistance to psionics. That way the mentalist would not be part of the game world and be so powerful but there would be powers that Elder Things have that none of the PCs have. That would keep a Elder Things strange and unknowable.

Agreed. The goal was to keep DFRPG real simple, once players are comfortable with it the DF line is an obvious addition if a group wants to expand it.

They aren't removed. It says right in monsters that for example:

I don't get the joke. The psi rules are in the illuminatus section with all the other doublefnord stuff.

Or just use GURPS Dungeon Fantasy. It has more stuff in it anyway, and you strike as an include-it-all kind of guy from your posts.
