[Star Wars] Raddaugh Gnasp Fluttercraft
Raddaugh Gnasp Fluttercraft (TL11)
Manufactured by Appazanna Engineering Works, the Gnasp Fluttercraft is a civilian security patrol vehicle. Also known as a Wookiee ornithopter, the Gnasp is routinely used for patrol and rescue missions in the jungles of Kashyyyk. Although not designed as a military craft, the Gnasp has occasionally been pressed into service (most notably in the Clone Wars), where its light armor and minimal weaponry can be offset by its incredible agility. Subassemblies: Body with Good Streamlining +3, two Wings +0, three Fixed Skids -1. Powertrain: 260-kW Ornithopter Drivetrain with 275-kW Nuclear Power Unit (5 year lifespan); 734,000-kWs rechargeable Power Cell for blaster cannon. Occupancy: 1 XRCS, 1 XRPS Cargo: 20 kg (2.2 cf.) Armor All: 3/5 (open-frame). Weaponry: Light Blaster Cannon [Body:R] (100 shots). Equipment: Body: Short-range radio (500 miles); autopilot, navigation instruments, transponder, GPS, terrain following radar (6 yard range), small computer (Complexity 5) with two terminals, RVO program and Targeting program, two crashwebs. Universal mount with full stabilization for laser cannon. Statistics: Size: 7 m. x?x? Payload: 0.22 tons Lwt.: 0.82 tons Volume: 110 cf. Maint.: 38 hours Price: $284,422 HT: 12. HPs: 207 Body, 67 each Wing, 19 each Skid. aSpeed: 194 aAccel: 6 aDecel: 118 aMR: 29.5 aSR: 5 Stall Speed: 27. Design Notes: Body is 110 cf; wings are 11 cf each, Skids are 5.5 cf. Structure is Medium, Standard with Good Streamlining. Armor is Open-Frame Standard Metal. Computerized controls. Design aSpeed was 196 mph; the "historical" value is shown. aDrag included both crew seats as Exposed, although the design counts them as enclosed to determine body volume. Although the vehicle cannot hover, its low stall speed and high gAccel/aDecel allows nearly VTOL performance. The NPU produces an extra 15 kW which can be used to recharge the power cells of the blaster cannon.
