Re: GURPS Character Assistant under Wine for Linux
I'm running Ubuntu (most recent release) and was able to get GCA installed and ran without much trouble last night.
Am now getting this error when attempting to run GCA: The following error was encountered in procedure 'frmSplash:CreateGCALinksLabels': 9: Subscript out of range Totally unsure of what is happening here. I have my other machines capable of running GCA, but this is my main one where everything is being kept. Any help would be much appreciated. |

Re: GURPS Character Assistant under Wine for Linux
Nope, only installed GCA. I definetly want to figure this one out because one of my players just swichted to Ubuntu and is having trouble with it by itself. He hasn't stated anything going weird.
I moved the gca4.exe file to a more accesible file location: /home/username/RolePlay. The GURPS Character Assitant folder is also in that same location. Would this effect the issue? |

Personally with Wine if I want to move the installed image I just reinstall it. I'm sure there's a better way but I've tried renaming the directory or drag-and-drop and it usually breaks.

Re: GURPS Character Assistant under Wine for Linux
Went ahead and reinstalled. Needed to keep gca4.exe in it's folder in system32 like you said. Making a link to that folder so I can access it easier.
Second question: Anything specific I should know about copying character files (my friends character sheet sent over email) and templates(.gdf files sent to my players)? |

Re: GURPS Character Assistant under Wine for Linux
Unless you're careful to send them properly encoded/MIME'd, it's possible to screw them up. For everyone e-mailing files back and forth, the safest thing to do is to archive the files before they're sent – as your e-mail program should default to doing the right thing for a binary file.

Hey guys, trying it with Wine under Linux Mint 15 and I keep getting 'Run Time Error 7' Out of Memory. Any thoughts?

Re: GURPS Character Assistant under Wine for Linux
Have you installed the DLLs and runtimes?

Re: GURPS Character Assistant under Wine for Linux
I installed:
"riched20" and "vb6run" I looked for these, but couldn't find them in winetricks: "native-oleaut32" and "fontsmooth-rgb" or "fontsmooth-bgr" I DID install oleaut32.dll rather than native-oleaut32.dll
