Default Designing a con artist for THS

What would be an optimal design for a con artist in a THS game? Bunco squads would have some awesome tools in the setting. A grifter would need lots of talent and skill to keep ahead of the law.

The optimal beginiing for Skill selection is Law and Research. Because the best rackets actually are legal you jsut need to find them and where their borders are.

Technically you might end up with a politician, a lawyer or an entrepeneur instead of an "actual" con man but that's where the big bucks are.

Or quasi legal. Lots of how to get rich in real estate or stocks programs get shut down for being iffy but the person running it just gets fined and agrees to not do it again. Lots of them live in FL where the bankruptcy law lets you exclude your primary house. So they have everything in a multimillion dollar home and almost nothing in the bank and just lose the little bit in the bank. Then work up another scheme that doesn't violate the consent decree they signed.

I get the impression that a first rate grifter would be more of a patron than a PC. At least as you guys see it.

A colorful and interesting PC probably wouldn't be much like this though preparation is always imprtant for big cons.

Memetics would be important as you could find major opportunities in persons whow ere attracted to the right memes. Probably soem of them in Toxic Memes.

Or a memeticist. Starting a religion where the primary tenet turns out to be "give all your money to the Master" isn't illegal in most places, and I get the impression that that sort of come-on is part of the background meme-noise for most people.
