Urn the Power
This is a simple, useful McGuffin.
It is a funeary urn which is a reliquary. It holds 6 Essence. However, there is a slight flaw in the lid. Anyone holding the reliquary for more then 6 days gets treated to the flaw, which is that the overly burdened system suddenly releases all it's Essence in one go, emptying it in a loud manner. Obvously this works more as a gift or a find. It can also act as a wandering distraction, as whomever the current owner* is makes Essence puffs all over the town in a weekly rotation. *Because of it's nature, it changes hands a lot. |

Re: Urn the Power
But if it's emptied every 4 or 5 days it should be fine, right?

Re: Urn the Power
Only blows when it fills and tries to wedge more in. Keep it drained and it's fine. But that just makes it more of a trap. Most PCs frequently tap the Essence. It's when they have smooth sailing, banking for a sunny day, that it blows and makes things interesting again.
It's a useful device for the PCs, but it's also a plot device. |

Re: Urn the Power
Nice plot-mover.
I think it would be maybe even increased if the description/decor of the urn made it seem to contain the remains of someone important (either someone famous, or of a treasured Soldier's remains, or a Child of the Grigori whose remains could be valuable sorcery components, etc, etc). Regardless of whether or not this is true, it might increase the drama associated with the urn.
