Re: GURPS Discworld
Generally with the licenses I think you only buy the rights to write each book. So SJ games might have to renegotiate to write another book even if it was just an update of the rules.
Anyway I am sure someone will tell us soon enough. I for one would buy it! |

Re: GURPS Discworld
There was an old Pyramid article updating the Discworld racial templates to 4e. Think those updates could be put into a pdf extra for GURPS Discworld?

Re: GURPS Discworld
I just ran quickly across the Discworld book, it seems to be rather straight forward conversion. Maybe we should just do them here on the forum?

Here is a quick conversion of the Elves. The Psionics were the hardest since iron can be used to block there Telepathy for example.

Re: GURPS Discworld
This is turning into a FAQ for some reason. I'm assuming that it means "produce a new book using 4e rules and all", because old Pyramid articles and fan projects are perfectly possible but not the sort of thing that anyone would ask about.
And Note: I don't speak for Steve Jackson Games. They may be in negotiations of which I know nothing. I hope that they'd bring me on board in relation to this topic quite quickly, but that'd be up to them. Anyway: Nothing has been announced on this subject. (And until anything is announced, you'll get the same answer, so please don't bother asking again until then.) Obviously, it's a hypothetical possibility. Speaking strictly personally - yeah, I'd love to see it too. 4e rules, ten years experience of doing Powered By GURPS books, and a bunch of extra novels in the series offer obvious and tasty possibilities. On the other hand, (a) there would be complex commercial calculations involved, and (b) Terry has well-known and serious health issues, and may well have priorities which push this sort of project so far down the list that it falls off the bottom. So there we are.

Fair enough. Thank you for the unofficial answer.

Re: GURPS Discworld
From a fan perspective, I'd be happy to work with others. The 3e book is one I need to pick up, but I've read all the books countless times.
