Cheat card during battle

Can I put the cheat card on an item that I have already equipped, when I am in battle?

Yes, you can Cheat! an already-equipped Item during combat. However, you cannot use it to equip a new Item, even one that's already in play. (I know that's not what you asked, but others have wondered.)

Does the same answer apply to the use of the Hireling card as well?

You cannot trade Items on and off a Hireling while you are in combat.

I thought that Hireling was something like a Cheat card..So I can't play a Hireling card from my hand on an item already eqquiped when I am in battle?

Hireling is similar to a Cheat! card, but not exactly the same. No, you cannot give a Hireling an Item during a fight. You don't play Hireling on an Item; Hireling is a separate card that can have an Item attached.
