Celestial geography for essence production
Something struck me this morning. There are two skills humans get at 3: Language and Area Knowledge. Since dead souls automatically speak the language of the realm they are in, it doesn't matter: leaving Area Knowledge as a useless skill for Dead Souls that has a very good chance of having been increased to 6...which would allow gaining an extra essence a day but only if it can be used.
Heaven & Hell would both benefit from creating duplicates of earthly settings: Hell increases the essence they can farm from the cattle, Heaven becomes more Heavenly. (Additionally, this allows training celestials for corporeal duty). Of course, the celestial versions will tend to be out of date - and sometimes more interested in other aspects. Frex the Eternal City will be based on Jerusalem but designed so that a knowledge based purely on the Bible will be useful (so the gates will accord with Nehemiah's procession). |

I can't help but think that, under this idea, Nybbas must have some very large "back lots" where the damnmed souls with Area Knowledge/6 get to work. Sure, they're usually victims of car crashes, gunfights, zombie attacks, and such, but it's better than being mindless consumers of The Media... right?

[Nods] Nybbas would also need 'extras' for everything he is filming, so they'd be responsible for getting the scenery right.
