Re: Good and Bad rooms
So did I. Wow. We've been doing that completely wrong.

Re: Good and Bad rooms
Under default conditions, you'll be using one die, and you may be facing a Monster with the same color base as you, so you'll need 2 dice at the minimum, there. Also, chances are most likely you'll only have one extra die, so, again, 2 dice. Also also, the most dice an individual Monster requires for its combat roll is 2 dice. So, anything beyond that, it's added cost to handle outliers from the norm, and every gamer has dice (or has access to those he can borrow), so why make the game cost more just for less common situations when you can find ways to get around the fact that you only have 2 dice of your color.

The word missing from my sentence is "normally." And, you're right, that's beside the point.

Facing a Monster with the same color base as me does change something in the number of dice thrown? I only thought that killing it would earn me a DxM card. Or are you simply meaning that as you throw a minima a die of your color for the monster, that leads to the fact that you need at least 2 dice (one for it one for you)?

Yes, at minimum, under normal circumstances (where you don't get bonus dice and the Monster is a single-die Monster), you'll need a die for yourself and a die for the Monster.

Thank you for the clear answer - and on a Sunday (I hope you are double paid for that). :-)

One of the changes we're making in the third printing is to clarify, in most of the references, that you roll six-sided dice to Search, because while it was clear to the designers, it obviously is not clear to a lot of other folks.
Those of you who like rolling lots of dice in your fights will be very happy next spring . . . which is ALL I am saying right now.
