Re: Dungeon Fantasy Roleplaying Game Discussion Thread
The designer's notes for Exploits is up: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects.../posts/1682310
Reading through it makes me even more excited for this, because it sounds like it will be a great reference for anyone running a fantasy campaign, hack-and-slash or otherwise. |

Re: Dungeon Fantasy Roleplaying Game Discussion Thread
Are there any new traps and hazards that weren't in DF2?

The emphasis on mapped combat is a pleasant surprise, given that I recall Kromm's saying he doesn't normally assume that combat uses a map.

I was surprised at that, too. I guess for DF it makes sense, from a traditional standpoint as well as from the standpoint of the popularity of miniature figures and associated stuff.

Re: Dungeon Fantasy Roleplaying Game Discussion Thread
Huh. I was assuming this was the case.
I'm not sure why you'd bother to include cardboard figures and combat maps if the system wasn't going to need them. |

Re: Dungeon Fantasy Roleplaying Game Discussion Thread
There's a big difference between including mapped combat as an option and treating it, as this post seens to imply, as the default. The Dungeon Fantasy line has mostly done the former, this seems to be saying the DFRPG will do the latter.

Re: Dungeon Fantasy Roleplaying Game Discussion Thread
I seriously want the PDFs I'd get out of the I Want It All level of Kickstarter support here, as these PDFs are already the main thing I've been wanting to buy online for years running and the whole bundle is a very good bargain.
However, taking out a debit card would carry a monthly fee and even though I could get a credit card for free it's against my nature and personal ethics to borrow money when I don't need it. You win this time, Miserliness(15). Obsession(Dungeon Fantasy) is only a Quirk, after all. And I still have $300 in my wallet that I don't know what to do with - once this product hits shelves in physical stores it's only going to be about $50.

Re: Dungeon Fantasy Roleplaying Game Discussion Thread
Depends on the campaign for me, I think, but in Dungeon Fantasy I always use a map.
