Default Re: Could a realistic normal person take Accelerated Learning?

In a more brain-related metaphor - SSRIs (a very common class of anti-depressants) aren't "happy pills", even if they help people with chronic depression be "less sad". They don't "make you happy" and if given to someone with normal neurochemistry they're likely to get very sick, hallucinate, and generally have things in their body and mind go haywire.

The things people with normal brain chemistry take to get actual chemically-induced positive feelings don't look like anti-depressants at all. "The dose makes the poison" seems very true in the case of brain chemistry, and for the most part humans seem to be very efficiently riding the edge of maximum performance before you get toxic.

Which isn't surprising, evolutionary speaking.
