Building a Disadvantage: Slow Motion
Slow Motion [-50]: You are physically slowed, but your thought processes are unhindered. You may be magically cursed, an outdated robot, or simply so large that you can't keep up with sprightlier creatures.
All physical actions take twice as long. Purely mental actions, however, are unchanged. The price is based on Decreased Time Rate [-100] and Compartmentalized Mind [50]. Thoughts on pricing, rules, or potential (mis)uses? Last edited by PTTG; 04-08-2018 at 12:55 AM. |

Wouldn't Physical Actions Only, Except Concentrate Maneuvers, or something be slightly clearer than using Compartmentalised Mind?

Re: Building a Disadvantage: Slow Motion
I couldn't find an existing limitation to price it off of... although I haven't looked through Powers. That said, you're right that the construction is basically "Decreased Time Rate (Physical actions only)."

Re: Building a Disadvantage: Slow Motion
I don't think that Compartmentalized mind would apply here at all... Comp mind allows a PC to perform multiple mental tasks simultaneously, it doesn't allow them to perform a single task in a fraction of the time... except where having a helper would reduce the time required for a task.
Power Ups 8, Limitations, has suggestions for ways to handle limitations for disadvantages... tl;dr, the result would look something like this: Disadvantage: Decreased Time Rate 1 [-100] Advantage: Doesn't have Decreased Time Rate, which would be worth [100], but put (Accessibility, Mental tasks only, -30%) on it, for [70] Totalling a net [-30] |

Re: Building a Disadvantage: Slow Motion
That seems unfairly priced, though, because for a much greater net point gain, you could have all the advantages of Compartmentalized Mind in addition to having two mental actions per physical time unit.
Again, I'm only using CM as a rough estimate of point value, not for its RAW. |
