It's not at all unusual to print more than you need of X item just because printing only a few of X is not economical, but "ganging" it with other items gets a good unit price. The waste in creating separate film, printing press time, etc., would be greater than the waste from recycling a few pieces of paper.

To economically produce something more rare than "one card for every copy of the sheet you printed the smallest number of," you have to pick out some of that hyper-rare type and discard them.

But most companies just let the factory do the discarding, whereas we are having fun with it (and admitting exactly what we are up to).

I think if Phil, Steve, or a few choice others were here, I'd let them destroy one of my W's, but it would have to be a creative destruction and I'd want to film it.

We have more than enough to destroy, you hold onto yours (and keep them away from Phil, please).

And NOW I want Phil to be a guest at a local con and have him host a panel where he talks about the usual things while occasionally destroying W cards in front of us.

Oh, this IS a good idea. Have him standing by the CCG tables at Origins and Gen Con, idly ripping up cards while he watches.

Aaaaaaaaand now I want to do something destructive, but not annihilating, to one of my Ws(I'm thinking bullet hole), and have it signed by Phil or Steve...
