I would much rather have space filling bases that match the rules for mult-hex figures; it makes things like reach much easier to adjudicate.

Yeah, the current bases assume the figure will be broadside forward (for front facing), but long creatures would be shown in profile, so bases with the "clip" turned 90 degrees would be nice.

Wider figures are going to be a bit harder to do without special bases designed for them.

This would be good.

Bases that can be snapped (or mag connections) together would be good. In the meantime this thread just gave me the idea of creating a paper base with Velcro tabs and gluing Velcro on some of my bases. That lets me adjust base size.
Still wont look nearly as good as it would with a Cardboard cutout.
However even flat cutouts would be awesome and not need bases.

Not really needed, but I wouldn't mind some cards summarizing spells. There's not a ton of text to the spells, but some players find using cards a lot easier than lookups in a book or table.

I'm a fan of Campaign Coins for some loot, but that's really more setting stuff.

More Cardboard Heroes would be great.

Big multi-hex creatures would be easiest as "plan view" pieces of cardboard, like the flat Ogres in ODE.

I've gone to Litko before, back when they made model aeroplane parts rather than gamer gribblies. I had them laser-cut hexagonal bases out of plywood, including some two hex bases. Unfortunately they don't casually carry 3 hex bases or other combinations.

Gloomhaven has a numbered off the board sheet where you can put status effects and HP counters

If the cardboard heroes have a number you could have the same system rather than filling the mat with counters.

All excellent suggestions!

I've not used these yet with the new cardboard heroes, but I have used Alea Tools' magnetic markers for years with my own min-figs to great effect. (They also sell ferrous self-adhesive discs, so you could easily make the CH bases usable with the magnets).

A spinner like the munchkin kill counter could be used to track damage to characters, reduction on one side of the disk and effects on the other.
