Wen Yen, Combat, and Multiple Creatures
So we were playing and the Wen Yen came out. A wandering level 12 creature was played on top of that.
My roommate thought that he could gamble against the Wen Yen in order to get rid of the Wen Yen and be able to defeat the level 12 creature. Otherwise the level 12 and the Wen Yen would have beaten him. I think this is malarkey. Any official ideas on this? |

Re: Wen Yen, Combat, and Multiple Creatures
What, exactly, would make this malarkey? I mean, I'm reading what the card says and that sounds like an extremely reasonable expectation of what you could do. It so happens to be the official opinion of this official opinion-giver that what your friend wanted to do was perfectly acceptable. . .

Re: Wen Yen, Combat, and Multiple Creatures
It just felt like a really cheesy way to avoid losing at combat because if you have to beat the combined power of 2 creatures then I figured you'd have to face them both but I can consider (and thus why I posted) that it's possible that you could separate the combat in that fashion.

Re: Wen Yen, Combat, and Multiple Creatures
It's the same as using Magic lamp, Charm, bringing in someone the monster ignores, or any other method of removing a monster from a multiple monster combat.
