Those must be easier to set up than the standard grappling w/ weapons which prevents automatic escapes via retreats? |

Nope. If you do this, it's because you want them to retreat, or suffer the consequences. Not being able to get away impacts you as well, since grapples tend to be mutual in the TG-based systems. I grapple you, you can also yank on me. A bind like this doesn't really allow that. Also: this is Dungeon Fantasy RPG, and complication like that is anathema to the simplicity of the system.
