What are the senses of a wolf image or illusion?
If a wizard casts dark vision on himself his illusion wolf gets it.
If a wizard cast Summon Wolf the wolf has a keen nose, right? So what about an image or illusion of a wolf?

So it sounds like if I cast an illusion of a wolf, it will only see and hear (and smell) what I could see and hear and smell. |

Illusions are cast to interact with a specific target or targets so I guess I fail to see why illusionary senses would be needed or relevant.

Unclear. It's quite possible that, if you think there's a mouse under the table, it will smell a mouse, despite there not actually being a mouse under the table and you being unable to smell it.

But this makes me wonder… if a blind wizard casts an illusion, is the illusion blind too? |

That gives me an idea for a new spell... Wizard's Eye (for remote viewing).

Now, what happens if an illusory wolf is stabbed by a monster the wizard is not aware of? Does it feel the damage? Does it take the damage? (these are separable questions). |

If yes, then the illusion takes damage. I see this as the less realistic way, but requires less housekeeping. I would prefer the player be an active controller of his or her illusions and make then react to attacks and such.

I really just think we are over-analyzing this stuff again. Trying to interject "reality" into a magic spell, and nit-picking the rules to death like this makes me wonder how anyone plays ANY game... ;-)

Don’t think of it as nitpicking. It’s people having fun thinking about the weird nature of illusions. It’s like time travel, impossible but brings up lots of potentially cool situations
