So how many people plan on getting this for Christmas? Especially you Vorkosigan fans?

I happen to know that it has been ordered for me. I don't know much about the series, but my wife has been reading it at the insistence of some of our friends, so I may be forced to run a game in the future.

Actually, I'm on the playtest credit list, a little to my surprise. So it depends on when SJG sends out the playtester copies.

Well, this certainly makes for a refreshing change from the old pattern! :) Instead of a husband buying wife a bowling ball or console game system that he'll get to use, it's the wife buying the husband an RPG setting that she'll get to adventure in!

Epic spouse! ^_^

Not really. I'm highly discouraged by many people's answer as to what makes the setting so special: 'characters'.

That, and I don't normally GM other people's worlds.

For Christmas? I already got myself a copy, and I never read any of the novels (though I'm familiar with the setting)!

I already have a copy.

Signed by Lois.

At the time, she didn't realize the print run had begun. I think I caught her a bit off guard when I showed the hardcopy to her.

*envy*

I'm going to order mine fairly soon... I have the PDF but since I'm planning to run a campaign I'd like a paper copy as well.

By the way - any idea when amazon.co.uk will be stocking them? I know it's up on Amazon.com but the P&P would be fairly high going to Ireland.

I bought the pdf (July?), printed it B/W on scrap paper, bound it with wood glue and coloured card, and then noticed the publication date.
I find scrap printings handy - I can scribble Errata and notes into them "with gay abandon" and coffee stains add to the character.

Actually costs about the same but instead of paying p&p, or paying Amazon.co.uk more than I'd have to pay SJG for book+p&p combined, I'm paying for printer ink. Actual payment for the Data goes direct to source.

Hardcopy I've bought has been cheaper via W23 than AmazonUK - and faster! Last time I tried to buy an SJG book from AmazonUK it kept shifting the release dates so I gave up and got it from W23 two months before Amazon was able to sell it (and a month late because of Amazon's messing me about).

There is that...

Unfortunately getting stuff printed in Ireland is horrifically expensive so that isn't really an option.

I might as well bite the bullet and order from Warehouse 23 so. :)
