I'm thinking about x75% if only Cut , n x100% if Cut/Imp ,and adding a bonus that you count as armed (no penalty parry etc.)

Remember an impaling Striker is 8 points and still only thr damage, so whatever the mod it should be more than that.

Talons that do Thr-1 Imp cost 8p
Striker that does Thr+1 Imp cost 8p (btw counts as armed) So I suggested that Talons 8p x 100% = 16p for Cut/Imp Sw and counts as armed |

Re: [Advantage] Claws: Talons,Long Talons (Sw dmg)
The Claws advantage shouldn't be able to do swing damage; there's no lever and even "long talons" are still just part of your hand. If any advantage were to be modified RAW to do swing damage, it'd be Striker. (And note that "Striker (Limb, Arm, -20%)" is a perfectly valid way to say "long claws".)
This is just off the top of my head, mind you. Let normal thrust damage equal T and let the normal point cost of a Striker equal C. Striker normally does thrust +1/die damage, which works out to about 1.3T for 1C. With the Weak limitation, that becomes 1T for 0.5C. For most values of ST, swing damage is about 2T and (swing, +1/die) is about 2.6T. If we use a linear model (which is necessary if the enhancement for this will be a flat value), we end up with the equation C=(10T-7)/6 (using a simple slope-intercept approach). That suggests that swing damage (2T) should have 2.17C (a +167% enhancement) and swing, +1/die (2.6T) should have 3.17C (a +217% enhancement). Splitting the difference suggests that a +200% enhancement is probably fair to turn Striker into swing-based damage instead of thrust-based. (Unofficial!)

I see claws doing swing damage using the same technique that lets a punch do swing damage.

Re: [Advantage] Claws: Talons,Long Talons (Sw dmg)
How about a simple innate attack?
Cutting Attack(ST based +100%, Melee Range C -30%)[12] for sw+1d cut damge, with Partial Dice(doeas only 1pt damge) x0.25 i think it would be legal to reduce the cost to 4 CP and the dange to sw+1 cut. If you also want imp damage thats an alternate attack wich only cost 1/5 of its normal value, so either 3 or 1 CP. |
