Steampunk: Bituminous Adhesive
At last weekend's Chattacon, I had a player argue that Bituminous Adhesive, played on a one-shot item, meant that he could use the one-shot and still retain it for the next combat (effectively turning his +5 one-shot into a +5 hands-free perma-item).
While I ruled "oh hell no," I must admit that the actual text on Bituminous Adhesive seemed to support his argument. So just a quick check -- was I right?

Re: Steampunk: Bituminous Adhesive
Here's how I would counter that argument. Sure, if he wants to use the Bituminous Adhesive to prevent his discarding that one-shot Item, he can keep the Item. But nothing about the Adhesive changes the fact that the one-shot Item can only be used once -- so he's stuck (literally) to an Item that gives him no benefits. Seems like not the best use of that card.
