Default Statting Technological Assimilation

Okay, designing a race of insectoid aliens for a Space campaign, who happen to be techno-organic creatures capable of merging with technology. As in, a small drone might come across a laser rifle, and absorb it, giving itself a built-in laser rifle turret. Not sure how to simulate this in GURPS, though. A form of Modular Ability?

Depends on the degree of absorption. It might just be Payload.

Basically you have a creature made out of goo. It can pick up weapons and tools and use them. It would only be a form of Modular ability if you can reform replacement laser rifles once the old ones are broken or used up.

Well, it's more that it's a semi-humanoid insect-like creature (Like one of D&D's Formians: http://img05.deviantart.net/c52e/i/2...ck-d7zp5pm.png ) that can attach various devices to its body to power and use them like natural cybernetic implants. Which would effectively be "Extra Limb (Weapon Mount).

I'm now considering Modular Abilities (Chip Slots) with (Physical +50%), (Technology Only, -15%), and Electrical (-20%), to represent this ability. Along with Machine Telepathy Talent and connected powers to represent this species' ability to naturally interface with machinery.

y.
Yeah but to make that work it has to be able to shapeshift to absorb the weapon. Otherwise it could only fit stuff it has sockets for.
