"Fleshing Out" _CW_ Car Makers
Was I the only one who tried to figure out the backgrounds of the various car-makers mentioned in the _Vehicle Guide_s? That is: Figuring out where the company came from; what its market was; did it have a particular design "motif"; that sort of thing.
Some of them were obvious -- for ex.: -- Cycle Concepts dealt exclusively in motorcycles, and the odd sidecar -- Houston Metal Fabricators was Oversized-Vehicles-Only -- Courier Services Ltd. designed cargo-haulers of various sizes -- Rothschild was a "luxury" brand (the cost, not the body type) Others were less obvious: -- Conquistador Motors, being in Mexico and the Southwest, went for simple, easily-maintained and -supplied designs -- Kane Motors seemed to have a thing for massive firepower for a body size, at the expense of armor

I believe Republic Motors is the current GM plant in Arlington TX, presumably separated from Detroit when the Free Oil States broke off.
Have to research what vehicles they have listed to see what their theme was (besides being Texan). Rothschild as the high-end Vehicle definitely had that image; it’s the first one i thought of as having a specific associated style.

IIRC, Republic covered everything from cars (_Xenon_) to 10-wheelers (_Mule_), and even a semi-tractor (_Lone Eagle_). It is interesting to note: Except for the "Late Arrivals" section in _ADQ2/3_, Republic isn't mentioned at all in _VG1_; but is all over _Combat Showcase_, and to a lesser extent _VG2_.

When I was building my last 3D arena, one of the things that I did was go through the various ADQs looking at the company's logos (I made banner ads for my arenas from them, adding some color in many cases).
Some of the companies I used: Aerodrome Industries Atlas Bodyworks Conquistador Corrine Custom Autoworks Evan Motors Falcon Industries Fnord Kane Industries Indra Motors Keller Motors - New and used cars MacMillan Motors Magnum Motors Miller Industries Mitsui Morris Machien Works Mystic Motors Prometheus Motors Rothschild Auto Works Security Motors Co. - Vans Shockwave Industries Volkspanzer Some car parts companies too: Electrofabrique Suisse - Power plants and PP upgrades Pioneer Products - Flame weapons Resnick Labs - lasers and optics Herlitz & Sons - missiles

There are many names -- but no real details about any of them; no "brand identity", in the current vernacular.
