Homebrew Profession: Spellsword

The Pathfinder RPG has a number of Character Classes that combine magical powers with either sneakiness (Arcane Trickster, Ninja) or sword ability.

I can't create analogous to those classes in the DF game. The Wizard template does not allow for increased strength, perception, or roguish skills. The Thief template does not allow for any magic.

I create a new advantage, Magic Blade. It costs 1 point and allows a caster to use a steel blade to deliver melee spells in lieu of a magic staff.

So I created a new template to allow for characters who do a bit of sword and a bit of magic.

[190] Attribute: Dex: 15 [100] / IQ 13 [60] / Health 13 [30]

[22] Take All Of: Magery 0 [5] / Magic Blade [1] / Energy Reserve 2 [6] / Improved Magic Resistance 1 [5] / Gizmos 1 [5]

Spend [20] on some of: Increasing any of above / FP , Per, or Will / Intuition / Luck / Spirit Empathy / Mind Shield

Pick [-15] on some of: Skinny / Social Stig (Excommunicated) / Frightens Animals / Curious / Pyromania / Unnatural Features

Pick [-20] on some of: Cowardice / Sense of Duty (Adv Com)
Lecherousness / One-Eye
Stubborness / Compulsive Carousing
Oblivious / Post Combat Shakes
Impulsiveness / Low Pain Threshold

[16] Melee Combat Package:
Combat Package #1 Rapier or Sabre - 18 and either Knife-18 or Main Gauche -17

Combat Package #2 [16] Knife - 18 Cloak - 16

[2] Ranged Combat Package: One of Throwing-15 / Bow-15 / Sling-14

[11] All of: Alchemy-11 [2] Thautology-11 [2]
Meditation-10 [1] Research-12 [1]
