Wait a minute...

Seriously, if someone wants to make up some non-GEV APCs I'd be interested.
Try this out.

Armored Personnel Carrier (APC): They have an attack strength of 1, a range of 2(4"), a defense strength of 2, and a movement of 3(6"). They cost 2 points (1/3 of an armor unit), move as a Light Tank, and are worth 2 victory points. APCs are capable of transporting 1 squad (1/1) of infantry internally. The transported infantry is capable of firing its weapons from inside the vehicle while still mounted.

Extended Range Mobile Howitzer - Basically it gives up a little firepower for a range increase: Attack 5, Range 8 (16"), Defense 1, Move 1 (2"), Mode - Light Tank, 12 VP (2 armor units). I'd like someone other than me to take a crack at using this sucker and see how it works for you.

Also, any of you guys used any of the Missile Tank variants I posted earlier? If so, I'd like to know how they work for you using Henry's Forward Observer rules, or the modified version of them I posted earlier in this thread.

Israeli "Sabra" cybertank - desinged as a light raider unit to fill the gap between the full sized Golems and smaller units, it was mainly used for raids against their Arab neighbors.

1 Main Battery (Attack 4, Range 6", Defense 4)0
6 Antipersonnel (Attack 1, Range 2", Defense 1)000000

32 Tread Units: Movement starts at 8"

Cool name for a scenario: "Sabra Cadabra".

We don't play the board game version - we only use miniatures and miniatures rules. And since time is generally so limited to play anyway, we really don't have time to playtest non-existant miniatures. We usually prefer to leave that to the game manufacturer to do.

Oh that's right - they don't care about OGRE/GEV anymore. It's sad actually, because you put a lot of effort into these new units and they have been out there for public consumption for how long? Three years? Maybe more? If SJG can't even pick up the free ideas out there and do something with them .... (shaking head)....

I don't want to go on a rant here.....I gather you know what I mean.

I like the Sabra. I was thinking along the same lines when I was looking at a smaller Pan cybertank for around 60-70 points. I like the M4 aspect of the Sabra. M4 + missiles = trouble!

I was at Datapulse the other day and he has alot of Ogres armed with smaller missiles - they are 3/4 I think. Has anyone used these?

The reason I ask is every time I fool around with one of those Ogre point calculators, I end up with an Ogre with alot of missiles. You just can't beat them for their bang for the buck. Smaller missiles might give the Ogre some range yet not be as devestating.

I figure one or two of them could be used for large raid scenarios, but I'd like to see how they work out with someone other than me playing them.
