But would it produce heat enough for heat vision(IR)?

Again, as that is covered by Inviability, and it does not grant invisibly, the answer is yes

Oh, yes. I wasn't talking about the advantage Insubstantiality so much as the "logic" of insubstantial beings in general. However, there are so many consequences handwaved away that any attempt to impart logic on it is probably an exercise in futility. Things like how they walk without imparting force against the floor, etc.

I sense a great disturbance in The Force -- as if the voices of a million catgirls cried out in unison and then fell silent ...

By that token does being invisible make you immune to laser attacks?

Insubstantiality is the advantage of being unaffected by things in the physical world. This does not stop you from EFFECTING the physical world- so you still reflect light, give off heat, etc- you don't absorb heat, nor do you loose heat more quickly in a stiff cold breeze. Shooting laser at you will generate quite a light show, you will not be affected by having laser light fired in your general direction.

Conversely for invisibility: Any laser powerful enough to do damage to human flesh is also powerful enough to ionize and heat the air significantly- having a lance of that pass through your invisible self causes just as much damage .

Tell god to warm up the catgirl woodchipper.

It might produce cold enough for heat vision depending on special effects. But without something else, it'll be visible.

By the book they don't. Insubstantial characters fly (or more accurately waft). But they might make walking motions while doing it.

They should be able to walk, as implied by the No Vertical Move limitation from Powers [as a non-limited Insubstantial character should be able to do anything the limited one can], though they certainly don't have to.

Brownie point for using waft :)

Or the other way around, whichever.
